Bass Strait Direct is built on a simple idea: buy locally caught seafood direct from Bass Strait fishers and sell it the same way -- no middlemen, no unnecessary cold chain, no guessing how long ago the fish was landed.
The shop is in Newhaven, right at the entry to Phillip Island, which means the catch gets from the water to the counter in days rather than weeks. The live crayfish tank, the ice beds stacked with the morning's fillets, and the staff who can tell you exactly what came in today are the visible result of that supply chain.
